For the simple reason that when first mentioned the incident some months ago I got nowhere in finding the problem. This time I thought I would describe it back to front, as it were. 8)

It is only a possible cause still. I use the car infrequently and with the aftermarket mods it has never been a quiet runner. In particular, the exhaust system has been a frequent source of unneccessary niggles and noises.
I'd always wanted a 1275 with all the mods. Now I'd gladly go back to a trusty standard spec car.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Aye. But that 1275 was such a sweet runner when I heard it in the previous owners car.
