sealed beams or bulbs
One of my sealed beams went and within 2 days the other one went.I opted for halogen replacements, but I bought Xenon bulbs which are 60% brighter than normal. BRILLIANT literally, wouldn,t go back to sealed beams again.

Halongen's are great, aren't they? Make sure that the wattage isn't too much on those Xenon ones - I wouldn't go higher than 60/55w, which is standard. IIRC anything higher than that is actually illegal anyway...
Oh, and make sure that you put some vaseline on the rubber seal at the back of the lamp, to stop moisture getting in... or you might have to replace a pair of very rusty reflectors come MOT time.

And there I was thinking WTF meant "Why, that's funny".
Incidentally, there's a few more for those who've not spent their lives on IRC / Texting:
IRC: Internet Relay Chat, the precursor of what are now called chatrooms (IRC is still better IMHO)
IMHO: In My Humble Opinion. Often found with other letters inserted instead of humble.
DAMHIK (IJD) : Don't Ask Me How I Know (I Just Do)
RTFM: Read the fabulous manual
*GD(&)R*: Grins, Ducks and Runs
LOL: Laughing out loud
ROFL(MAO): Rolling On Floor Laughing (My Posterior Off)
EBKAC: Error Between Keyboard and Chair, shorthand for "User is a moron".
NIFOC: Clothing is absent from this parcicular individual's current status.
I think, perhaps, I should stop there. Before I get in trouble
