oil filter conversion, any difficulties?

hi there. when those of you did an oil filter conversion, did any of you run into difficulties? how about the oil pipe union? the studs getting seized, (the old studs, getting them out). cheers.

All was quite straight forward..... just make sure you have a spanner on the union that goes into the filter housing and the nut on the pipe..... otherwise it may twist the pipe and risk it snapping

I bought two kits of east sussex minors and fitted them to two minors. They are easy enuff to do and you dont need a major selection of tools to do . these are a superb idea and great conversion in my opion. :)

It is indeed extremely easy to ruin the pipe - take great care.

hi Just done mine,everything went smoothly,just make sure you have the correct spanners sockets and a good way of removing the studs,one of mine needed a slight tug with mole-grips. Live should be less trouble? good luck

Actually there is something. Make sure you remove all of the old gasket off the block (obvious, yes?). I didn't and it rained oil all over my engine bay. A surprising amount of pressure!!

Definitely, keep an eye on the nut onto the housing as said. If the pipe turns with it, it will shear (did that too). And that pipe is quite expensive to replace. Luckily I had a spare and i was much more careful with it's removal!
