Help Please - Gearbox Mountings

I am installing a 1098 gearbox and engine into a Series 2 traveller. Not that that has any bearing (as far as I know) on this question. I see that the 1098 U shaped gearbox mounting brackets are handed. I realise they are fitted with the bottom of the U shape facing upwards but I do not know which goes on which side. Fitted on the wrong sides will alter the position of the engine and gearbox. Can anyone tell me which one goes on which side? Thanks. Tony

I believe that the gearbox mounts have a notch cut out of one end of the base plate to locate on the cross member
