stp oil treatment, your opinions?

i was going to dump some of this stuff in with my next oil change. what's your opinions of it? it seems that from what i hear, engines last that little bit longer with it.

Can't comment on whether it's any good or not (though I personally wouldn't bother, with modern oil and an ancient engine) but make sure your filter housing is sealed before you add it, or you'll end up with your STP all over the floor with the oil!

i use it seems to keep the oil pressure up ,my mate has a smokey van i got him the stop smoke stuff he added it now his van runs on 4 all the time instead of 3 when the plug oils up also his oil consumption has dropped .

I feel If it was that good the oil companies would have put it in their normal oils a long long time ago.
I only drove old cars in the 60's and 70's and tried them all ,never noticed a smidgin of improvement

Regular oil changes every 3 to 4 thousand in moggie type cars and 6k in later motors with a good flush works wonders.
I did 140 k in a rover SD1 AND 120K in an MR2 using this method with no problems. Both cars had a fair mileage when I got them.

snake oil. even notice how hard it is to get oil off any surface? it sticks and clings to it. i would say there's teflon already in the formulation. the parts when the car starts have to already be coated when the engine starts.
