Maybe the LCV - with an original low compression engine and shorter exhaust is the perfect combination?

My old Traveller was quite good with a mild steel exhaust but could not top the staimless steel on the convertible. Maybe we need two classes at the champs - mild steel and stainless steel?

You all need to give up now, our van would win for sure  she's fitted with a stainless exhaust in which the baffles have corroded away, it is by far the most burbling exhaust I have ever heard.

I am loving this thread! Ive got a standard engine and exhaust however bought one of those exhaust end's what are usually seen on Fiestas/Saxos. 3 inches wide it adds a great noise when farting. When accelerating it also sounds deeper rather than peashooter-style noise. Great in tunnels ;)

Just J-j-j-jiggle it a bit.

Mmm not sure which I am more worried about - ethanol in our petrol or methane in our exhaust gas

Either way - it will be a blast  on Championship day! -one way or another!!!

Beginning to think we might need a fire crew on standby

Love this thread!

Martha sounded like a tractor when her exhaust broke, I loved that sound

She certainly does grumble quite a bit now though! It's one of the things I love about her ;)

I've been thinking, The International Morris Minor Farting Championships 2012 should consist of various rounds.

Static: While stationary, one single rev of the engine - judge fart as revs die

Dynamic 1: As vehicle accelerates to a certain speed - judge farts on gearchanges

Dynamic 2: Find a steep hill to run down - judge length, volume, and quality of fart

Three rounds and an overall score wins - like it!

Now to the serious questions:

:D Is there a fartometer out there in case there is a disagreement among the judges?

:D Do we need old farts and young farts as part of the judging team to reduce any age bias either way?

:o Do the judges need any special protective clothing or respiratory equipment? - a day being farted on could have health implications?

:P If, as some claim, their car is capable of extreme farts - do we need to notify the Police, Civil Aviation Authority or Environmental Health?

and, most important of all - will all this be enough to get a celebrity team of Clarkson, Hammond and May down to take on the MMOC's finest?

Think I have a little too much time on my hands at the moment - I really should get back to work, people are starting to look worried about the mad gleam in my eye .... 8)

Sat in the library at uni (writing my essay due in in a fe whours, naturally), and this is really making me giggle.

May I suggest that there are also car categories, i.e. vans, saloons, travellers...

There are some good hills round here to practice farting. you would need judges placed at various points along the road too in order to continually monitor the fartyness.

perhaps the "quality" of the farts will bear a direct correlation to the fuel used....

I need a new exhaust in the nearish future. I was thinking of getting a large bore system, as I hope to get a 1275 at some point. Do they have the same sound though? I love the sound of my moggie. One reason I wan't to stick with an A-series engine.

Thanks, will it work fine with a 1089? I was thinking of getting a maniflow system, just the 1275 exhaust and upgrade the manifold when i get a new engine.
