Wing Beading wing traveller?

Post by GPO_Van »

Hi All
I bought wing beading for the rear wings of my traveller, now I’m ready to put the front wings on I’m wondering if wing beading should also be used on them.
It did not have any when I removed them and my saloon did not have any on the front wings either.
BM Part No: TRM103 and Description, Wing Beading
No sign of any in the workshop manual
Thanks in anticipation.

Wing beading was used on early MM's and Series 2's on the Front wings until late 1954 I think. After that the beadingw as only used on the rear wings

as above, not fitted onto the front wings as standard for later vehicles, but can be fitted by all means. tidies up the joint, but be careful not to block the drainage hole towards the scuttle.

I think it was stopped purely for cost reasons. I also like to fill the seam between the headlamp and grill.
