Re: Brand new minor price back in the day?
Does that include purchase tax? Was that still payable in 1970?
My 1956 Series 11 Traveller! Bought when I was 17 (1985)....sold 6 years (1991) later......bought back 9 years after that! (2000) With 6 different owners in the middle, what a lucky boy I am!

I've got a four door that came with its original bill of sale and in 1965 it was £575, 18 shillings and 4 pence!
Though the delivery, number plates and antifreeze were and extra £15, 1 shilling and 8 pence and yet another £15 for the 'road fund' licence brought it to a nice round £605
2 doors were a bit cheaper so its quite possible that 5 years later a 2 door could have been about the same price

Re: Brand new minor price back in the day?
I spoke with Selden Mayse's son about a year ago. Selden Mayse was the proprietor of the BMC dealership in Springfield, Missouri, where my Mog was purchased. Mr Mayse (the younger) said that his father sold Morris Minors in the '60s for $1750 new, or $13415 in 2011 dollars (or £8365 in modern pounds, or £625 then given an exchange rate in 1960 of £2.80 per $1).
The way to a man's heart may be making food, but the way to my heart is buying me car parts!
