Can't lock drivers door . . . .

Post by Buzby58 »

Seems I have a problem with the drivers door (2 door saloon) in so much I can't lock it - the key turns but the interior door lock catch lever is very sloppy. With the door open, if I hold the lever up the lock works but let go or shut the door it then drops and the lock opens.

Is there anyway of adjusting the tightness or should I be looking for a replacement?

TIA

Unfortunately there is no adjustment, but it sounds to me like a small spring has failed. When you take the lock out it should be clear which bit it is. The bad news is that I have never found anywhere selling the replacement, it's a question of picking up a second hand unit from somewhere.

Can you move the door lever such that gravity pulls it the other way, i.e. to hold it locked rather than work against the lock?
