Screen Has bruised to the wiper

I change wiper but still Bruised Windscreen of my car -can you tell me why - the image showing how to Bruised the Windscreen- I used brasso ( the screen wet from the brasso and wipe from paper ) but not remove the Bruised[frame][/frame]

Hello Sandun,

glass is not easy to polish, the best compound is diamond paste with a small powered mop, but it takes time. I don't know what the abrasive in Brasso is but it is rather a thin liquid anyway.

What chance is there that you can locate another windscreen as that would be easier?
You didn't say where you live?

There is nothing that I'm aware of that you can put on and wipe off that will cure this.
What ever you use is going to need a lot of polishing as you need to use something fine to get a good finish.

Brasso sounds a bit too coarse to me but if you want to try it pick a small area on the passenger side of the screen about 2 inches across and keep polishing it with a circular motion using a very little Brasso and a cloth, not paper.
Just keep going at the same area until you can see that you have made a difference for good or ill.

If you end up with circular "bruising" then Brasso is too coarse, try toothpaste instead.
It's the polishing that will fix it not the amount of stuff you put on it.

We've covered this before - Sandun is in SriLanka... I have cleared small areas of scratching by rubbing hard and long with Jewellers' Rouge and Cutting Compound - then polishing up the rather dull result with Brasso.. It takes a long long time. Only practical for small areas. It does rather look like a new screen is required here. How easy that will be in SL I really don't know....

Or a machine polisher.

Sandun, do you have access to Youtube in Sri Lanka. I only ask as I know not all countries do. If so, then watch some of the scratch removal videos. You really do need a machine polisher or at least an electric drill and a very steady hand! Otherwise it would take hours and hours to remove. The secret is very much in using progressively finer grinding pastes or discs. The more grades you have the easier it is.

It will be a LOT of work - maybe there are windscreen places local to you who would have a method of removing scratches??
