Getting a Bonnet to fit
I am restoring a 1968 Traveller, and have just finished fitting both doors and wings, but I am having problems with the Bonnet, the near side is to high above the edge of the wing, I can not move the wing any higher because that would mean moving the door up to, and the door is right as it lines up with the body lines and door frame, I did phone C Wares at Bristol, and they told me that they have seen hundreds like it, but do not now why they do it, or how to cure it, they did say try to bend the Bonnet stiffener down on the n/s it might help but will not cure it, just wondered if anyone has had any luck with this problem, if not I will just have to live with it, which after many months of hard work to get it this far and look so good, its a blow.

Yes unfortunately sometimes you just have to live with panel gaps that dont please you, I spent a very long time trying to line the bonnet of my traveller up but it still sits over to the drivers side more than I want. The thing is most people wont notice its just very apparent to you because your doing the hard work!
Have you removed the rubber stops from the front and rear incase they are stopping it sitting? You can always trim these down if needed. As you mentioned you can sometimes get a bit of adjustment from the bonnet stiffner. Also is the bonnet catch freed up as you can get a bit of left and right and back and forwrd movement from this. Bending would be a last resort especailly if the panel is newly painted.

Thanks for you advice, its nice to now that I am not the only one that wants perfection, Yes I did try removing the stops, I have been playing with the bonnet catch, and have convinced my self it looks a bit better, when it is finished I will make a point of parking it next to a wall so no one can see that side, thanks for you help, now where that gearbox?
