Replacement door alignment
Hello all, I'm replacing the drivers side rear door on my 4 door saloon with a good second hand replacement I have sourced. I'm having trouble getting it to fit well? I've tried adjusting the hinges on the b post etc but no joy, catching at the top and too bigger gap around the arch area? Is there adjustment where the hinge screws to the door? Are there any variations in doors? Would it help if I fitted the hinges off the origional door to the donor door? Any advice would be great cheers

Re: Replacement door alignment
You may find an advantage in fitting different hinges but possibly have more joy if you use hinge packers behind one/or both, fitting something behind the top hinge may help top clearance for example. With various combinations you may get somewhere near the mark!
Re: Replacement door alignment
Does the door fit the opening ok if you just hold it in place - without the hinges?

I will remove the hinges and check it fits the gap, great advice cheers at least that will eliminate any problems with the panel itself. Just got the problem of removing the screws that secure the hinge to the door!

Re: Replacement door alignment
Looking like alignment issue is down to a poor shaped door, strange because it hasn't had a skin on it or anything, even more of a shame that it's in good condition but won't be able to use it. The old origional door which has rot at the top fits good, do I get another door or try to let in a top section from a donor door on the origional?
