the rear hub nut is not castlated, it's secured by a locking washer. the lock washer locates into a hole on the stub of the axle.

rear hub nuts are either 1 7/8 inches or 47mm. There are 2 sizes knocking around, as some reproduced ones are not the original size.

The rear hub nuts are castled nuts on my series mm with a split pin to secure,my rear n/side hub is dangerous as not protected by a split pin owing to not having a castled nut fitted.

We are refering to the Series MM axle not the A Series, cheers

Yes - it's the early axle...... Not the Minor 1000 axle..... The +ve camber can be rectified by fitting a thickish washer behind the eyebolt head, just make sure the nut on the end of the eyebolt remains fully engaged. In fact I used steel plate rectangle with a suitable hole drilled to take the eyebolt shank. Retrack the wheels when finished!

The subtle clue was "Castlated nut". I have the advantage of knowing what car Bootlid has.

All along it's been side-valve engine questions, and MM chassis questions.......

Maybe Series MM questions should be posted under Series MM Register to avoid confusion.

At least people will not be wasting their time researching the wrong answers.

or it could be mentioned in the title of the thread, or in the first post.

or they could say what car they've got in the sig.

i did notice that it said castlated nut, but having no experience of these early cars (my dads '53 has a 1098 axle) i wasn't to know.

i will make the mental note that bootlid has an early car. once again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for your learned assistance as always. I have put a posting on the Series MM section for people to use that section for their Series MM questions so that you will not waste your time researching M1000 answers

bmcecosse meant to mention to you that both eyebolts have the c shaped thick washer and yet offside front slightly positive camber.

You need to make/fit a thicker washer! +ve camber makes for horrible handling......
