USHM3 bottom metal water pipe?

Post by RobThomas »

Does anyone have a few pics of the water pipe that goes from the pump to the bottom of the rad? I've got some pipes here but the engine is out of the car.
If someone has a pipe on the bench it would be handy if they could take some pics set against a ruler so that I can gauge the bends. I'm fairly sure I have got 3 used pipes of the correct size, buuuuuuut......you never know.

Cheers

Top man!

Looks like I struck gold at Beaulieu, then. :D Mine were zinc plated but it has mostly corroded away, leaving dirty Brass. I have a zinc plating kit so I think I'll replate them.

Well, I couldn't find the part among the boxes of my personal jumble. Now that I've found it I see I'm too late. Story of my life eh?

Well, I've got a need for 2 of them and I might try to get the third one copied to make a few new ones. I've got the correct size pipe in copper so I can maybe get that bent to shape, flared and then zinc it and apply heat to turn the top layer to brass.
I'll let everyone know what happens to this idea.
Ian. If it doesn't get used then you can have it.
Darrell. The pics arrived and I've taken copies to show the wife so that file can be closed off if you wish. Out of curiosity, were those front wings/fenders the originals for your market?

Hi Rob, I almost didn't find your query, just happened to take one more glance at this thread. Will send a separate message with more detail about the customized front wings. ...

Meanwhile ... I do have an extra brass pipe here. Any reasonable offer for it would be welcome and postage should be cheap enough. That will cost less for someone than making a new one.[frame]Image[/frame]

After all the discussion about the copper/brass pipe, mine is a horrible full length rubber version with a join in the middle with 3 jubilee clips round it.
Does anyone have the metal section of pipe they would sell me, plated or unplated, preferably with just the two holes, one at either end?
thanks
