hi guys i have a morris 1000 1961 it appears that when im driving along the rd no matter what speed im doing the speado needle on the dash is all over the place cant really tell what speed im doing is there a fix for this.

poss new cable or lightly oil the one you have

Probably the cable is damaged - or perhaps just running 'dry'. Take the inner out and inspect it - and if it looks ok - a thin smear of grease (but not on the top 12") and slide it back down the outer and reconnect. You can test the speedo with a reverse running electric drill....

I changed mine today (only cost about £6 and was really simple). Its made the world of difference and speed cameras are nowhere near as scary a prospect...

i changed cable today and the waving needle is gone aaaah bliss i can now speed with ease (well eventually once it gets up there :lol: :lol: )
