Hi All

Further to my original post back in Oct 2009 I still have the van in a lock up. I really need to try to sell. The van has been stood now for about 12 years. It was in good condition but is now really a restoration project and would need collecting on a trailer. The engine has not been started for 10 years and the brakes would need freeing up before moving. The car is a J plate Austin Minor Van in green owned by me since 1988 and by my grandfather before that from 1973.
I will try to get some photo's to post - can anyone give me an idea on value and is anybody interested - van is in Durham City.

Regards

Ivan

Ivan,

If you decide to sell the van post an advert in Minor Matters so at least members get a chance of taking it on. If that fails, I can recommend www.carandclassic.co.uk which is free to advertise and which also picks up ebay items as well. Have a look at the site. Again, I would stress the importance of being very honest in your advert as buyers will walk away if not as described. (ebay charge!!)

One word of caution about using either e-bay or carandclassic - watch out for the money laundering scams, ie do not part with the vehicle unless you have cash in your hot little hand! I had a guy purporting to be an oceanographer who wanted the car for his uncle in Northern Ireland and wanting me to accept a bankers draft (which was probably forged) and he would arrange for the car to be collected - all without even seeing the car!

If I had the room and time, I take it off your hands like a shot but unfortunately.....................

Good luck

Hi Ed

If you could have a look one time when you are in Durham that would be great. Drop me a mail when you are next in the area and we can arrange to meet and you can have a look.

Cheers
