Jaguar XK/Traveller cut & shut for sale!
Bit wrong but quite interesting. Well, if you were thinking of ruining your Moggie or Jag then look at this first.....

It's just wrong on so many levels. I think the auction estimate is around £40K.

Most likely, These XK150's are worth 6 figures in good nick.bmcecosse wrote:It will be bought for restoration back to a Jag - thank goodness.......
I liked the idea when I was told about it. Then I saw the photo. The roofline is wrong and the rear wheel arches are awful. So much effort and work. Why?

Hello David,
"So much effort and work. Why?"
Simlpy because the owner wanted, basically, an XK shooting brake. Bear in mind that the Jaguar then was a relatively cheap car, and to me I think he got what suited him. I also don't think that it is a bad conversion, The roof line could have been improved a little but all in all rather interesting vehicle?
By the way the estimated price for a top XK 150 is much less tha six figures, £70,000 according to the JEC.

Well if I've got the winning ticket in the Euromillions on Friday I'm going to buy that, it's a hoot!!!!
Re: Jaguar XK/Traveller cut & shut for sale!
It's just another car in the tradition of British 'shooting brakes'. When they're built by posh coach builders they are rated as classics, when someone does one himself people seem more negative... Don't understand that really.
Re: Jaguar XK/Traveller cut & shut for sale!
Possibly an established coachbuilder ( posh) has a reputation for quality workmanship, whereas joe bloggs may not have.

Apologies Louise! I should have realised before I posted this that the eagle-eyed forum would have beaten me to it.
