manifold and carbs
Hi there, i recently bought a lcb manifold, i was wandering what inlet would i need to get to use with the standard carb? cheers
Re: manifold and carbs
Best way would be to (carefully) cut the exhaust ports off your combined manifold as I would think the single Metro inlet would be too big (or have the wrong stud spacing) for a standard carb.... I may be wrong though

Re: manifold and carbs
you may find that cutting off the exhaust bit off and using the inlet on its own doesn't work. I tried it with a cast marina manifold, and the inlet wouldn't clear the centre exhaust pipe.
The problem is that LCB manifolds have a much straighter 'shot' out of the port, whereas the cast manifolds have a moe abrupt change in direction and the centre bit of the exhaust comes down sharply to undercut the inlet section.
I've not seen a proper separate inlet manifold for a standard minor HS2 carb. I don't know if any Mini specialists would do such a thing.
The alternative is to buy an inlet manifold designed for a bigger carb (with the 4 stud square spacing) and make an adapter to fit the 2 bolt HS2 fitment.

No point running a standard HS2 carb with an LCB, and as above - no hope of the standard inlet fitting over the LCB. it's a performance exhaust and so you will need an HS4 or HIF 38 carb - and the MG Metro inlet manifold.
