I cant see any other cause myself... If the wire had been bent from the right round to the left, then it would rotate the in the opposite direction: Image

1969 Four door Saloon Old English White 1275 with ported head and HS4 carb. Wolseley 1500 front brakes. Currently off the road with a leaky master cylinder!

Looks like esm doesnt support images linked to other sites. If the wire was bent to the left instead this might be the reason.
