oil through top of filter
Help - all we did was have her oil changed: now there's oil pumping out through the top of the new filter. What's gone wrong?
Re: oil through top of filter
I would guess the seal is missing from the top of the filter (It sits in a ridge at the base of the filter housing).

Did you change the filter? Did you remove the old sealing ring - and fit a new one? Or did you try to stuff the new ring up in the groove - ON TOP of the old ring that was already there ? And - as a matter of interest- was the spring and pressure plate assembly present and correct in the filter can when you fitted the new element?? Meantime - if oil is pouring out - don't run the engine till you fix it!!
