Just seen this on ebay. Didn't realise they made them, it must be quite rare.

Ideal for camping gear at shows
Old car owners don't die......they just rust away

Not too sure about his claim that it can carry 1.5 Tons........ hope the brakes work! And I'm guessing that would be way beyond the rating of the tyres..... An excellent thing though - used to see them all the time 'back in the day'.

Made for a J2 van too, not a Minor.

Re: Ex-GPO trailer for your van anyone?
I got one of those a few years back off a stall at Beaulieu, though mines got a ball hitch. Easy enough to fit a combined pin and ball hitch to your tow vehicle though.
I wasn't sure at first if it was ex GPO, I just liked it especially the spare wheel mount on the back with the giant cast wing nut holding the wheel on. (I've never seen another one of these with the wheel mount though). since been told that its an ex GPO linesmans trailer and yes used with larger vans not Minors, though the wheels are Minor.
Mine was never yellow or green and has always been a silver colour, but I guess they were made over a long period of time so plenty of scope for differences. Apparently the two little angled loops ont he front NS corner and rear OS corner are for slotting the red warning flag into when parked up at the road side as a sort of period alternative to cones and flashing lights!
Looks well and tows nicely behind a Minor though 1 to 1.5 tons seems well optimistic!
