Car Trailer - Stockport / Manchester Area

Post by Arthurdaily »

Hi All

Can anybody possibly help me out towards the end of next week? I have purchased a moggy with no tax or mot, I have a tow home but realise now that that would be illegal as it is not moted... plus it hasn't gone anywhere for 4 years so god knows what the brakes are like! Thus I need someone with a car trailer... I'd pay obviously.

Thanks!!! :D

Cant you hire a towing dolly from somewhere?
Borrow a car with a hook, or buy the driver a beer or two.

I'm almost certain you are not allowed to tow a car using an A frame if the car being towed doesn't have a current MOT. Be careful.

Try http://www.shiply.com They seem quite reasonable.

Hi all, thought about a dolly - but none to rent round here and as has been said, illegal unless engine, gearbox or shaft removed... also thought about simply booking it in for an mot and driving it there... then home... would never pass, but might make it and if it DID break down I'd legit be able to ring aa! However, just stopped a bloke down the road with a recovery truck who says he'd do it for 30 quid!! So, emergency everted and my new 71 saloon, plus boxes of spares, will be with me on Wednesday! Yippee!
