Your reg number is not 'strange' but reasonably rare now. Older registration numbers started with a single letter before the number then two letters then finally three letters and three numbers. When these were exhausted in some areas they reversed them and put the numbers first followed by a single letter. Your H reg number was from the second area to do this Middlesex in 1953. They were just beaten by Staffordshire who issued the reverse E reg in early 1953. Only D, E, F, H, K, N, R, U and W were issued that way round and now command silly prices on the cherished registration number scene. There are four figure H numbers advertised on the Reg Transfers site between £2000 and £5000. Doesn't mean to say they will get it but it an indication of their possible value. Keep the number on your car if you can!! Busguy

If you send a fiver to the DVLC they will send you the history back to the change in log books (in the early 70`s I think)also does anyone know where my car was between 1969 and1998 as i have a large gap in it's history!
Cheers
