Design of saloon Rear window to boot panel

Can anyone help out here.

Looking into the bodywork and am trying to figure out the types and shape of panels on the swage line as detailed below in big red arrows, this is on all saloons.



Looking at it there must be a roof panel coming down with a lip overlapping the rear slam panel which the boot apetures set into. There must be a seperate panel for the roof, swage line - Which is bulbous in shape - and boot shut.

Has anyone got a break down or cross section of this section they could show???

As far as I can tell the boot surround panel is spot welded to the back edge of the parcel shelf but is pressed to form a ledge onto which the roof panel sits. The bulbous bit is part of the roof and ends in a 90 deg bend under which is spot welded down. The convertible hood wooden rail bolts to the same ledge. Difficult to get at when rear window leaks start off the rust.

Yes, the above is correct! You can see how the panels all fit together if you have a look at a convertible with the roof removed and then on a saloon, peel back the headlining below the rear window and have a look/ feel at this area.

The swage line is part of the roof panel. These have rusted through on my 4-door saloon project so I've been making repair sections at the college restoration course I go on.
