I am one happy bunny tonight! It runs a bit better now I have tinkered with the carb. Leaking rad and fuel pump now added to the long list.

One problem, leaking fuel pump, fixed but now another two problems have come to light. Not charging and a leak at a rear wheel cylinder banjo. Talk about one step forward, two steps back!

As David said , you're getting there.
The list of things to fix, re-do, alter, will get smaller and smaller. There then follows a sense of pride when it's all done.
People will congratulate you and you can say " I did that myself ".I promise you that it will be impossible to make that statement without smiling ( inwardly you will be saying to yourself... it was bl ***y hard work but you will still be smiling ).

Well done on getting the car started!
those are just "Minor" problems- as for the rear banjo-may need new copper washers or heat the existing ones cherry red (remove from car of course!) to re- temper it soft so it will seal again.

Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Another step forward! The dynamo is now charging.
Some idiot had left one of the brush springs still hooked back. (wonder who that was?)
Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I have ordered new copper washers for the banjo.
Should have done that in the first place, I will have wasted more than their cost in brake fluid by the time I bleed yet AGAIN.
