This has been discussed a few times, but I struggled to get all the information I needed from one thread.
So, just in case future generations come across this thread - this is how I fitted them to my daughter's 1969, 2 door, Minor 1000
I used Securon 500/45 inertia belts.
There was a thread discussing if these were long enough - I'm no Kate Moss, but they fit me fine!
They fitted in the same mounts as the existing static belts - at first I thought I was missing a bolt hole but the reel mounting point doubles up with one of the belt ends using the same bolt.
The upper point is still low down, below the side window, and isn't directly above the reel.
I checked with my MOT tester and it'd OK to angle the reel towards the upper bracket, so the webbing doesn't twist.
The only problem I found was the buckle disappeared out of site when undone.
I figured a way of holding the buckle to the upper door pillar, at shoulder height -
There's not much metal in the door pillar to fix a bracket - but I was able to stick a strong magnet on there to grab the buckle.
The magnet came from inside a scrap computer hard drive - it's amazing how strong they are are - and as a bonus they're chrome plated!
I used Araldite to stick the magnet firmly in place.
FYI - the seats are from a Rover 100 with Newton Commercial bases.[frame]
