Rear seat base

Post by TomLS »

Hi all,
I'm trying to get the rear seat base out so that I can locate some good seatbelt mounting points, but I can't see how you do it!
Do I have to go in through the spare wheel area and unscrew anything? It might just lift off of course, but as the base is wood I'm reluctant to yank too hard...

In a saloon? it should just lift up. The rear seat base is not made of wood... :s

the rear seat base on the traveller is made of wood... in case this is what you have..

you should be able to grab the back of the seat and pull it forward/ up you will find it "rotates" around the front of the seat.

once you have it at right angles to its normal position you will be able to see the two hinges which need unscrewing to allow the seat to be removed

There should be a grab/pull (like the door pulls on the front door) on the back edge of the lower seat. Gently pull these forward. Then as above. It might be easier if you remove the back rest first - unbolt, unscrew, then rotate it sideways and out through the rear doors.
