EFE 53

Post by Arcachon »

Many of us have spent hours (and cash!) getting MMs motoring again.
So, mixed feelings when I saw EFE 53 pinned to the wall of the Science Museum like a stag's head trophy.
Better than rusting unseen and unloved in a ditch somewhere I suppose.
But it's a real pity you can't get close to see the interior, engine etc.
Better still if you could see a working model.
It is the Science Museum after all...
Views?

Its in the science museum london :) Personally i think its good for it to be there. Its a way of 'advertising' as it were. And it is safe and sound there for the moment at least :) There are far more hidden away, its on show.

Three cheers for the Science Museum who have replied:

"...Morris Minor MM series car, 1950. Chassis no. SMM 46032, engine no. 41550. Registration no. EFE 53 (Inventory number 1979-371). This object is currently on display within the Museum’s Making the Modern World Gallery... I have reviewed Museum archival records and can confirm that this object was acquired in 1979 from Nattriss Garages (Mapperley) Ltd. From the corresponding technical file (T/1979-371) and nominal file (1005/22/28) I can also confirm that the car was built in 1950 and had two previous owners. "

From the way it's mounted to the wall it doesn't look harmed - just "displayed" :D
