Seat Belt.. Its Urgent

Post by james.ed »

Finally put in the new carpets.. which required removing the seat belts. alls well.. only one of the seat belts retracted and promptly got well and truely stuck. It thinks its in a road accident and refuses to give more than half an inch. I need a new one or the misses will do her nut.. anyone know of any shops around horley / crawley / redhill that sell them. shockingly halfords doesn't

They need to be level or they may catch.

Had the same problem. I managed to free it by removing the end of the belt from the lower mounting and turning it back into the reel. It just freed itself before the reel got completely stuck

Hold the unit level and, moving your hand a couple of inches each way, carefully shake it back and forth a few times. You should be able to hear and feel the ratchet bearing rattling around. If you tip it as you shake it it will just lock up again.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

everything has been tried.. its been level, upside down, back to front, shaken.. still nothing, and the reels taken all the material it can so now its jammed tight.

a new one is on its way from ESM and hopefully (if the post works) should be here by tomorrow morning.

thanks for all the help and hints!
