Hi,
the problem in this topic still isn't solved.

I guessed it was the heat but now its just 22°C outside , she ran very fine for about 5 Km, I stopped somewhere and left there after 30 minutes, ran 100 meters stalled, started again, 100m stalled,...

Spark is oK
Fuel is ok
Idling is ok
new spark plugs
new spark leads
new points
new dizzyrotor (a good one)
overhauled carb
it feels like she gets sufficated even with the airfilter off

i'm out of ideas

please help, she has to drive a newly wedded couple in 12 days.

Just a few ideas.
Have you tried replacing the condenser ?
Have you tried replacing the coil?
Are you sure the pump is actually pumping?
Is your distributor tightened properly with the clamp bolt?

she seems to stall the moment she gets on temperature

Is the Low tension lead, inside the distributor...points to plastic upright lucar connector ( external ,on side of distributor )
sound ? Examine very carefully... it's quite delicate.

reading a few messages about vacuums caused by bad breathing of the fuel tank, I started thinking.

I noticed that the fuel pump doens't tick like it used to.
When driving she used tot thick very fast after pulling away at a traffic light for instance.
Also very fast when turning the contact-key.
Low tempo ticks when cruising at a steady speed.

Now it only ticks at a slow tempo no matter what I do. Fuel filter is constantly filled with fuel, almost no variations in level.
So I guess the line is somewhere blocked.
I'll try to check the whole circuit, but if anyone can say where to look first, it would be very helpfull.

theres no low tension lead inside the distributor on my dizzy, the low tension lead goes straight onto the points at my sidevalve

I've got it, it's those funny met-tricky measurements you use over there oin the continent, the car likes British miles and yards 8) 8)

More seriously, there's a piece in the current Minor Matters about petrol and how the use of ethanol (2hichi I understand to be 10% in Europe, but only 5% UK) can cause issues with vapour lock. Next time it stop, carefully remove the rubber petrol pipe from the carb and see if petrol flows (without hitting the pump). Any spilt petrol should be directed into a suitable container, and do not allow onto a hot exhaust. The best way is to get the hose into a can and then have an assistant turn on the ignition for a second or two, just enough to prove the point, after which it can be turned off and the hose reconnected. Petrol flows = ignition problem, no petrol = fuel.

the fuel filter was blocked indeed

Well
the filter was definately blocked, not completely but enough to restrict a decent flow,
replaced it, now the pump ticks more like it used to.
First little trip went fine, so i guess that was the problem

You don't NEED a fuel filter - I say this over and over again - but folks seem fascinated by these daft things.. Throw it away!

I know you don't need one, but my tank should need a good cleaning, or even be replaced, untill then I prefer a filter.

Which clogs up and causes you these problems. The carb can handle bits and pieces - throw the filter away!

The carb can handle bits and pieces thats the benefit of the old su no small jets to clog,and the su pump has its own built in filter anyway,take it off and throw it away
