portarack roof rack advice and bits needed

Post by xpress »

hi there. I have a portarack roof rack but the bottom rubber bits are missing. they will probably have some kind of thread hole in the rubber.

secondly, I have one long threaded arm with the bracket that sits under the gutter, the other one is missing. it looks simple to make, anyone know where I could get this made cheaply or anyone up for a challenge?

It's a lovely rack (let the jokes commence) similar to Louise's roof rack.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Can't help with the clamp but as advised previously, you can get a set of 4 new rubber feet for £9.99 on e-bay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOOT-ROOF-LUGAGE- ... 5ad566b71b

little update on this. turns out the gutter clamp is a left handed thread, probably BSF, trying to get something made up. not sure why they would do the gutter clamps in left hand thread back then! there's a knurled wheel that adjusts the gutter clamps in or out.
