I don't have a pinch bolt out of the car at the moment but if you find a length of bar which will just fit through the hole and project out of the other end, leaving enough to turn a thread on the end of the bar to fit a 9/16 A/F nut and washer. Machine away the part of the bar visible through the dizzy drive hole. When you tighten the nut the pinch bolt will lock the dizzy in position.
The cost is in the setting up of the machinery so get a batch made and sell them on which will reduce the unit cost.

Thanks for reply,my replacement dist. is held tightly by the clamp,my new sump/gearbox plugs still dripping oil,where can you get new copper washers or have you any novel ideas.

Copper washer - perhaps from Autoparts... Just take care to NOT strip the sump thread when tightening.... That may be the real problem - the plug may be hanging in there on the 'last thread'

Have aquired two used copper washers from my brother,will try these on next oil change,biggar problem is lots of oil streaming from crankcase area in front of sump,oilrunning down sump as far as gearbox,have fitted all gaskets according to manual.

Copper washers aren't going to help the leak then!
Also 2nd hand ones are far from ideal.
Try taking all the bolts out of the sump then pushing it into place, if you can rock it from side to side it is probably catching on the front or rear cap,
No amount of tightening the bolts will cure this, other measures may be needed.
While you have the sump off put a straight edge across the faces to see if they are still flat.
I normally dress the bolt holes back to flat if they have been distorted by over tightening.
Do you have the long washers on the bolts?

Sure the oil isn't coming from the timing case seal? Clean/wipe it all - and inspect carefully.

firstly i will try and aquire new copper washers for the sump/gearbox plugs but can anyone tell me the proper size , and i can tell you the leading bolt near to the crankcase black rope type seal will not tighten up as thread appears stripped,also stripped are one spark plug thread and studs for manifold/carb ,these items were found damaged but not by me,new studs for manifold/carb have been ordered but will need someone to recut other damaged threads.

I thought that when I answered, why is this thread about eyebolt rubbers yet I've posted about sump leaks?This has all wandered so far off the original topic
It may help someone in the future get some ideas about sump leaks if the question has it's own thread.
