Boot Lid Seal

Hi guys,

Just bought myself a new fibre glass bootlid for my morris, ordered up a boot seal from ESM while I was at it, the old boot never had a seal on it, hence the need for a new boot, as the old one is nothing but rust....



According to ESM, I attach the seal to the bootlid itself, not the bodywork of the car.


Do I do this with adhesive, and where about's on the boot do I do it? Anyone got any images they can help me with just so I can get it clear in my head.

i used heavy duty double sided tape.

put the rubber onto it, then trimmed the edges.

this then meant i had a 'self adhesive' rubber to fit to the boot.

bit of a faf, but it's strongly held,a and the positioning was easy, as it stays there once positioned!

Thanks! And the seal goes on the inside of the boot lid? I don't know as I've never seen one attached to mine!

bull motiff sell the seal with adhesive on, so all you need to do is peel pack the protective strip and stick it on

Just fitted a new boot seal without the self adhesive side and fixed it with Evo-stik that seems to have worked very well. Just beware if placing the seal without removing the boot lid from the car, that the glue doesn't drip on the paint, so protect the painted surface underneath (bumper etc.) as the glue can sometimes have a detrimental effect on the paintwork.

Thanks guys well I will be attaching it with the boot separate to the car and I currently have no paint in the car so it doesn't matter! Ha!
