When I bought my current Minor a year ago it had a little play in the N/S front wheel bearing. Not too much to worry about, but you could hear it rattling when going over bumpy ground. A few months later I replaced both kingpins and all trunnions, and decided to replace the N/S wheel bearing at the same time. Still the same amount of play. Having looked around for an answer I was told it could be due to the hub being worn where the bearing fits in, due to it being driven around with an almost siezed bearing turning it's outer shell. So, just bought a good secondhand hub and another new bearing set. Guess what - still exactly the same.

My thoughts now turn to the bearing spacer - I used the one which came with the replacement, but I did notice that one end looked highly polished. Could it be the problem? It would be a coincidence if both the old and replacement hubs had exactly the same amount of wear on the bearing spacer. I've spent £60 trying to solve this problem so far - It's driving me mad!

Any ideas?
