wanner grease gun

well i got me a one hand wanner grease gun but it doesnt seem to work i have taken it to pieces and cant find much inside so think there maybe something missing, does anyone know where i can get a diagram of the internal gubbins? all it seemed to have inside was a ballbearing and a spring/star washer type thing?

You will find an exploded diagram on the 'wanner' website. when filling the gun the spring behind the plunger will preload the gun the thumb screw just up from the hook ring should release any air trapped in the low pressure side of the gun. Nextpump the trigger a few times if the gun has been used before it should self prime. If not undo the thumb screw on the top of the gun pull the trigger a few times to expel any air trapped on the high pressure side. The gun should now work. Spares are available for the gun through 'wanners'. I have just converted one to pump oil for an old car car that uses 'enots nipples, having made my own adaptor. Hope this helps.

thanks i got it to work kind of! when i pull the chain to fill the gun with grease should this suck the grease in or do i have to spoon it in?

It should sort of suck it in - but at the same time you need to push it down into the bucket of grease - messy business! Will it not take a grease cartridge?
