Traveller/prius hybrid!
Only in America! This guy has built a traveller/ Toyota Prius hybrid. The engine/mechanics are from the Prius and the body is a widened traveller. He's insane and incredibly skilled. He somehow installed the entire Prius dashboard in the moggie. Heres a link to the first video, theres 4 or 5 showing his progress. Cant wait to see it finished.

Genius or sacrilege, i'll let others decide.

Re: Traveller/prius hybrid!
Not a minor body. He cut the panels off the Prius and stuck the minor panels and MG screen over the top. Looks like it will be some kind of convertible/traveller/pickup when it's done.

Re: Traveller/prius hybrid!
I've seen the video, it is horrid. He has ruined a perfectly good Minor to make this monstrosity!
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Re: Traveller/prius hybrid!
I dont understand why hes done it. Doing a tidy engine transplant from a Prius might make sense I s'pose. It's the dash swap I dont like. Clearly got a lot of time on his hands!

Re: Traveller/prius hybrid!
What an ignominious end for a Traveller
. Doesn't even look at all well done, just a crude lash-up. I bet unless he does lots of town driving, the car as original would be just as economical. Should have just chopped the pious up and left it at that
.

Be better off fitting an A series to a Pious!chrisd87 wrote:What an ignominious end for a Traveller. Doesn't even look at all well done, just a crude lash-up. Re: Traveller/prius hybrid!
I wonder what Issigonis would have thought of that. Don't know what that is, but i don't like it!

Re: Traveller/prius hybrid!
Issigonis was undoubtedly a genius! He would have quite rightly rejected the whole idea of a "hybrid" car in the same way that he would have rejected a fully electric car as being old, failed, obsolete technology.
The best idea if you want to save money and lower pollution (hydrocarbons, NOx gasses and CO etc) is simply to convert to LPG! Can DIY, and the kit costs about £500 (last time I checked), but only worth doing if you cover a lot of miles annually.
