Fiat Fuel Injection Unit

Post by Trav55 »

I am in the process of fitting a Fiat 1608 twin cam engine, five speed box, and rear axle. I am also thinking of using the Fiat fuel injection unit off of a later 2000cc engine. I have searched around a little on the forum and have not been able to find any info on using the Fiat injection system. Has anybody done this, or tried to do this and hit a road block? If there is one out there I would really like to see some pictures.

Thanks,
Steve

I don't think the injection system from the 2000 will be set up correctly for a 1600 and the ECU probably won't be programmible. To be honest, the amount of work you would have to do for the possible small return on bhp or economy it's probably not worth the pain.

If you really want to go injection, have a look at the megasquirt forums to make your own ecu. Or, talk to JLH about OMEX injection systems

If you want a simpler route to power, try bike carbs or twin Weber '40s. Or, see if a later 2000 injected engine with all the sensors and ECU will fit your existing gearbox.
