Hi, I have removed the cylinder head from my 1000 traveller (1959) and the bypass tube is corroded , I have ordered a new one but the new one appears to have a screw thread, the one in the cylinder head doesn't look screwed in , my question is how do I remove the old tube and is there a tube available that does not screw in but is tapped in ?
Many Thanks if any one can help.

It IS screwed in - but you will have a job and a half to get the old one out. Probably have to carefully shell drill it out and retap the thread - quite a job. If it's not that rusty - I suggest leaving it well alone.

The bypass tube on my traf blue is corroded too, debating whether to change it or not. I think I will leave it alone until it gives some issues.

Thanks guys, I managed to chisel the old one out and this revealed the thread in the head.
