Ok its been a while now but getting back to doing a bit more on the moggy,

After finally sourcing the panels from a doner car I've now removed the mangled B post and most of the rear quater panel, the inner rear wheel arch and lip, I also want to replace the rear closing panel as pictured but don't seem to be able to find it listed in my catalog... I think its older than the car









Anyone know if this panel is available? It doesn't look to difficult to fabricate but I couldn't tell how the bottom edge was originally attached and can't find a picture or breakdown diagram of this section, not sure if it should fit as the repair patch was made up (angled) or if it should slot into the seem of the outer sill which sits almost directly below it?

Yes thats the panel.. boxing panel extension

The bottom edge needs to be curved slightly and sits level with the boxing panel (which its an extension of) behind the B pillar.

Originally it was spot welded on top of the floor panel.. the edge pressing in the floor here is a narrow upside down U section and it sits directly on top of that.

Does that make sense?

I did find this panel listed online but couldn't decide if it was the correct one or not,
the panel pictured looks quite different to the one i've removed, the curved impression near the hole looks to be the wrong way around and it seems to have the top part missing were it steps out and folds upwards agian, perhaps the picture has been cropped a little,

Taupe, thanks yes that makes perfect sence, just wanted to confirm this first before cutting and folding the new sheet,
Would you have any tips on diy replication of the circular inner lip that attaches to the inside front of the rear wheel arch, it's there to secure the interior 1/4 panel to the inner arch i believe, it'a an angle section rolled into a curve to match the wheel arch,[frame][/frame]

Its no wonder it was all wrong. Thats the drivers door and the steering wheel is on the
wrong side. Looks great now.
