problems adding up

Post by sevrien »

HI I just broke the stud between the manifold and the carburetor.
Can someone tell me where to get a new one?
Or give me the specs to let someone make me one?

iirc, it's the same as a thermostat housing stud. all minor suppliers will stock them.

Just unscrew it and fit another. Hard to imagine how it broke! These should only be nipped up since only securing the aluminium flange of the carb. 3/8" diameter - not sure of the thread but probably UNF.

If you can remove the remains of the stud then you can use a bolt of the same thread. Remove the carb dash pot, fit the bolt through the carb flange mounting hole and screw into the stud hole, replace dashpot. It will not be necessary to remove the dash pot to remove the carb in future.
Good point about the H1 being horizontal and the H2 being semi downdraft.
