REV COUNTER

Hi, I have a rev counter that I would like to fit but have no instructions and not a clue on how to wire it up, anyone have one similar or know where the wires should be conected. I have a black, yellow and blue wire comming from the back of the unit, plus conectors for the bulb. Pics below. Thank you.[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

It looks like a Yazaki, if so I have one fitted and I can check the wiring. First check that it is set for a 4 cyl. engine .If it is not a Yazaki then try an internet search for the make and you should be able to find a wiring diagram.

did not think of the google option (log books for maths when i was in school), there appears to be a lot of info so will check it out, may need to come back for some advice and or hand holding. Yes it is a yazaki, do you find it a useful clock or does it just look good in the cab, will be doing away with one of my other clocks if it works, currently have oil, amps and water.

It is too small to be really useful. I happened to have it lying around and it fills a space in the inst panel, a full size rev counter would be easier to read. If you have a combined oil pressure/water temp gauge then you will have space. I would certainly have the other gauges in preference

Decided not to fit, the reality is I never look at the ones fitted to my everyday motors and would rather keep the 3 smiths dials that are fitted. I am constantly checking these and consider oil pressure, water temp. and charge (fan belt snapped) to be an important aspect of engine life. Thank you for the info.[frame][/frame]

Look like comfy seats, and a tidy way of setting up the gauges! I loathe the steering wheel though.

Seats are from astra gte and fit rather well, steering wheel is the best one I have come across (and have tried lots over the years), each to our own I guess.

My 54 has a very similar wheel - I want to change it to an original but then I'd have a problem to reach the (mini?) instrument stalks
