hi everyone
ive recently reconditioned my mbg head
i put new o ring valve stem seals on the valves, when i took my rocker cover off today i found 3 of the orings sitting loosely on the top of the head.
should i fit them both to inlet and exhauts (wich is what ive done)???
is this cheap seals or fitter error???
anyone had this happen before??

Re: mgb valve steals
O ring seals are pretty much useless anyway....... they couldn't escape unless they had split. Or - did you leave some spares lying on the head. Seals are normally only fitted to the inlet guides. The exhausts need the lubrication.

Re: mgb valve seals
every seal had split and sitting loosely inside the spring
when i put them in, i pushed them to the bottom of the valve stem to hold the valves in then put the springs on (thinking the seals would be pushed to the top of the valves on start up)
have i done this wrong?

Re: mgb valve seals
Very wrong! The seals go at the lower edge of the little recess for the valve retaining cotters........
