Type 9 Gearbox and 1275

I hope some of you might have some experience here or send me in the right direction. I have an LCV I have converted to a 1275 with a type 9 Ford 5 speed and a hydraulic clutch. Works fine for a short time and then I'll start getting a bit of a "tinkling" sound. Something like the throwout possibly. Then shortly thereafter the pressure plate breaks. This has happened twice now. Only about 100 miles each time.(i'm in the USA) The first time the daigphram broke in three places next time several of the" Fingers "out of shape. the Disc and the throwout seem to be fine. Does anyone know how much "throw" there should be on the clutch arm? Should I convert to a concentric? HELP Bob Barr LCV UTHA

Sounds like you may be over-travelling it.

Thats what I think too. But It feels and operates perfectly for a while. I have only found one reference on another site to travel and it says about 8-10 mm at the pressure plate. Which is a bit hard to measure when its all assembled. Any one with an idea about how far that is at the other end of the arm. Or with info about where and wht type of concentric TO Bearing to use. Thanks
