BBC Reel History

Post by jackson.woods »

Hello!

I'm a researcher working at the BBC in Manchester, and I'm working on a programme called the "Reel History of Britain" - Basically, a social history programme for BBC2, focussing on different aspects of ordinary life in the 20th century. We're currently working on an episode titled "On The Move" - about the explosion of car ownership in the 60s and 70s amongst ordinary people, and the use of the new motorways.

So, at the moment, we're looking for people who can tell us about their experiences on the road at that time, whether it was your first car, a family holiday, or even a breakdown. It doesn't even have to be a Morris Minor, although the car was an icon of the era!

Either way, if you have experience on the road from that time I'd love to talk; just leave me a private message on this forum, or you can email me directly at jackson.woods@bbc.co.uk, and I'll call you at a convenient time.

Here's our poster, in case my description wasn't enough;
