diff casing compatability
I have an 803cc diff casing and diff,i want to know can i remove the halfshafts and take diff out and replae diff with a 1098cc diff and refit the original halfshafts???basically is a 803 diff casing the same as a 1098 as they look the same, much help appreciated guys,Stevie
Re: diff casing compatability
Should be fine if they both look the same - only the Minors with side valve engines had a different axle.

Re: diff casing compatability
you might come a cropper with oil filler plugs.
early minors had the filler on the diff itself, whereas later ones went to having the plug on the casing instead.
if you fit a late diff in an early casing you may find yourself with nowhere to put the oil in.
not the end of the world, i believe you just have to jack up one side and, with that halfshaft removed, pour the oil in through there.

Just use the breather hole if there is no other filler. I think I ended up with two fillers.......
