HI, IN SHORT
MY OIL LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME......
TRIED A NEW FILTER AND OIL CHANGE
STAYS ON WHEN IDLE
SOMETIMES THERE IS A SWEET SPOT IN LOW GEARS WHEN IT TURNS OFF BUT ITLL BE BACK SOON
ANY IDEAS?
FAILED MY MOT TODAY......NOT ON THIS FAULT BUT ITS ONE TO GET SORTED

The bottom end of the engine might be worn out, or the oil pump isn't working properly. Are there any nasty noises eminating from it, particularly when hot?
A few things to check though - I presume you've put the right grade of oil in there (20w50)? Check that the pressure relief valve hasn't stuck open, as this would lead to no/low pressure.

Bad luck with the MOT, out of interest, what did it fail on?
My money is on it being the switch, is the wire still connected to it? i had the wire break off the spade and whenever the wire touched 'earth' the light would flash on!

With no oil pressure it would sound like a bag of bottles, I'll second or third the switch idea.

thanks ill look into that also
i failed on 2 welding spots
rear brakes/handbrake
brake lights stayed on when pedal was lifted off
not bad cos they give you 10 working days to fix and with easter and royal wedding ive got till 9th of next month lol
