Marina Disc Brake Conversion

Hi Guys,

I'm sure that this question has been asked many times before, but here goes.

What modifications are required to use the Marina disc brake kit? I'm thinking mostly of pipe work and master cylinder.

There is a bit here about the re-drilling to minor pcd. http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37934 You need to remove the top hat seal from the master cylinder, and sometimes an extra fluid tank is used, but i believe not essential.

The remote fluid reservoir is essential as the calliper draw more fluid than the wheel cylinders. There is enough in the normal master cylinder, but you would need to check it and top up on a very frequent basis.

And most who fit these discs find they need a servo too......and of course the rear brakes then need to be repiped so they are fed from the servo. It all starts to add up.....Glad I have a much better system!!!

"The remote reservoir isn't essential as long as you check the fluid level regularly"

That's how I've been running for several years with Marina discs, haven't really felt the need for a servo either.

i had marina discs on a van and did not have a remote resevoir and i had no problem and i did have a servo
