Does it have a chassis number? If so, that should be enough to identify the year it was built.

You could buy a Production Trace Certificate from BMIHT which will give you the build specification and dates. See BMIHT website

The small gold dash and white speedo in front of the driver finished in late 1954 and as travellers only started prouction in 1953 it limits its age! As Louise says whats the chasis number, if there is no chasis plate it will be stamped into the bulkhead just below wiring near the regulator.

There is a register for Series 11 travellers ran by Mark Howard, details will be in the club handbook.

Are you saying you have an unregistered car with no chassis plate or VIN? Just a number plate that the DVLA on line system does not recognize? Do you have any other information regarding history, engine number or body number?

As David says, from the information you have given it would be a 1953/4 built car.

I've now checked the chassis number and it's early 1956 (possibly March/April). Speedos were still white then, but in the centre of the dash rather than in front of the driver.

Hi all, it has the vin plate and reg plates on it at the moment, as far as i can tell it is all original, i applied for the v5 but the dvla said i have to get it verified by the club, not sure if i am going to keep it yet i am doing another traveller and do not have the space or time, i am yet to give it the once over but the wood is genuine and good, and as i pulled it out a barn where i am sure it has been for 40 odd years i don't think it is that rotten, i hope to look it over this weekend.
Thanks for all your help everyone it is appreciated.
