Oil Pressure gauge

Post by plg422d »

I have a 1275cc engine fitted and wanted to reconnect the oil pressure gauge but there isn'r room because of the GFE 150 oil filter that is fitted. Does anyone know if an extension hose is available like this one for the A series?

Thanks

There IS room - many fit the T piece and then the gauge connection and the pressure switch. May have to look for a longish T piece - some seem to be quite short these days.

My oil pressure gauge and warning light both fit on to a T piece on my Midget 1275 engine.

i think the problem the original poster is having is that his 1275 is from a marina and has the oil filter at the back of the block. i've no experience of these myself, but i'm guessing that is where the pressure gauge fitting problem is coming from.

That is correct - the oil filter is at the back right next to the oil pressure switch

Any idea who sells a "longish" T piece?

Can you fit the T piece then fit the filter?

Hi again
Is the oil pressure switch the same on a 1275cc engine as on the 1098cc engine?

Europa Spares supply a longer 'T' piece, - check their website.

The only one I see from a search is the usual short one? https://www.europaspares.com/searcher
Can you point us to a longer one??

Not sure if that link worked, but on the page was something that could do service as an extender.

Have to type in 'tee-piece' in the search box - nothing else seems to throw up anything useful - but it's a most 'unfriendly' search function. Maybe someone will have more success than me with it? I must admit the long T I have is from many years ago - the last one I bought (for my TR7) is just the short one commonly available.

here is my set up for my capillary oil pressure gauge. works fine. you'll have to remove the dizzy to get it in. don't forget to use PTFE on the threads...... or risk oil all over the floor when you start up.
