rear seat belt traveller
Hi all,
i just need to know if you think i have the wrong rear seat belts, securon 284, which i bought from my local supplier, however they need 3 mounting points, but on my traveller, clearly the reel is on the arch, belt comes over the seat and bolts down the bottom under the seat, but my belts have a fitting in the middle which would be fitted for example on a front seat belt on the top of the b post, basically i can cut the clip of, which would work perfectly but seems a bit extreme on a brand new belt, or get some other belts, can anyone tell me if rearbelts on travellers when bought from bullmotif etc just have 2 fittings and what the securon part number is.
cheers all.

Re: rear seat belt traveller
For rear Traveller seats you need Securion pn 264. The application chart says 254 but they are too short.

Re: rear seat belt traveller
theres no where to fit the upper fixing, it would have to go on the upper wood rail, which is clearly not an option, ii need ones without the middle fitting. I will get some from bull motif i'm sure they would have the right ones.
Re: rear seat belt traveller
The reel goes on top of the inner wing - with a large strengthening plate below. I'm not convinced it's very strong........
The lap bolts through the floor under the seat cushion, coming up through the gap - one each side of the hips!

Re: rear seat belt traveller
yes i know but then i have a spare clip which would go approx shoulder height between the lower clip and the reel, i cant fix that one to the floor as its between the fastener and the reel, the same as a front seat belt, they are easy to fit, i just think i have the wrong belt.

Re: rear seat belt traveller
You have the wrong belts. As I said 264s are the correct belts

Re: rear seat belt traveller
Yes mike, thanks for your help, i have returned the others, and i have ordered some rearbelts from bull motif, they should obviously send me the right ones, cheers mate i appreciate your advice.
Re: rear seat belt traveller
" bull motif, they should obviously send me the right ones " - not necessarily - check with them what they are going to send you. May save a lot of wasted postage..........

Re: rear seat belt traveller
well they seem to be the only ones they list so hopefully they will be the right ones, however they have messed me about before, but they are the cheapest so i will see how it goes.

Re: rear seat belt traveller
As the list recommends 254s they may well send those so tell them 264s or nothing.
I know all this because I have 254s in the back of my Traveller and they are useless. They will be transfered to the back of my Series MM.
Just trying to stop others making the same mistake

Yes - we've been through this mess before - which is why I suggested checking with them............

Re: rear seat belt traveller
I have obtained some Securon 264s after reading this thread, having previously tried the 254 and discovered them to be too short. Wish I'd read this first. I'd re-iterate the question asked earlier about the 264, as it does have the extra clip which doesn't seem to have anywhere to go when mounting at the rear of a Traveller.
I'd be grateful for any advice on the correct fitting of these.
Richard

Re: rear seat belt traveller
264 should be a longer version of 254. Please correct me if I am wrong

Re: rear seat belt traveller
Securon 264's have the extra metal buckle which has to be cut off.

Re: rear seat belt traveller
No actual picture of a 264 which it says is a 4 point harness, just a 3 point 254

The extra point being......mike.perry wrote:No actual picture of a 264 which it says is a 4 point harness, just a 3 point 254
I have bought 2 of these 264s, and have had to cut off the extra mounting point.
They are long enough.

YES.... Avoid Bull Motif ones, I bought them as they were the only choice on the site but they are tooooooo short!
Ring them before they send them out.
